Alissa Henry is a feature reporter for Good Day Columbus Weekends on ABC 6 and FOX 28 and Cash Explosion Co-Host.
Born and raised in Columbus, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a certificate in Political Communication.
Prior to joining the CW/ABC6/Fox28, she was the Managing Editor for a daily webzine for three years. Afterward, she was the social media manager and photographer for Mayor Michael B. Coleman’s (successful) re-election campaign. When that campaign ended, she went back to writing and was a popular freelance writer for multiple websites. Her topics included celebrities, finances, relationships, and current events.
A self-proclaimed TV junkie and social media addict, Alissa also enjoys church, shopping, reading, writing, running, celebrity gossip, community outreach, music, and all things pink. When she’s not working, you can find her enjoying inexpensive activities around Columbus with her husband… and tweeting about it.
Peruvian Fashion Designer Juan José Saenz-Ferreyros is a Columbus, OH favorite who has shown his collections around the world – and here in Ohio. He loves doing fashion shows that raise money for charity, such as at Fashion Week Columbus, the Black Tie Chandelier Gala, CAPS for the Cure, DACO Gala, and more. He also has a store in his hometown of Lima, Peru – Juanjo Ferreyros Atelier.
Juan is known for the elegance of his designs, whether a formal evening gown or cocktail wear. Women often remark that his clothes not only make them feel good but they are also comfortable to wear. He prides himself of making women feel and look their best.
Besides designing for Miss Colombia Universe, Miss Peru USA, and other celebrities, Juan José is very much a Renaissance man. He has been a journalist, tv host, model and, as many will attest, an excellent chef. He has taught modeling in South America and, privately, in New York.
Akili Jahi is a distinguished fashion designer who emerged in the Columbus fashion scene in 2010 at just 16. Mostly self-taught, he quickly developed a passion for Haute Couture, immersing himself in fashion history and the industry’s pioneers. His debut show in August 2010, featuring 19 women’s garments, launched his career.
With over 60 shows to his name, Akili has showcased his work at major events such as New York Fashion Week, Greater Lakes Fashion Week in Cleveland, and Fashion Week Columbus in 2010, 14,18, 22 & 2024. He also produced the first-ever Club Couture fashion show at the Lincoln Theater in 2024.
Akili’s brand, Jahi (meaning “Dignity”), embodies luxury, sensuality, and power, resonating with confident, empowered women. Beyond designing, he’s committed to fostering the next generation of creatives. In 2018, he founded the Jahi Designer Brunch, an annual event that brings together creatives and funds scholarships for high school students pursuing fashion careers.
Alexandria Jay was established in 2017. Jasmine participated in Fashion Week Columbus in 2019, and New York Fashion Week in 2020. She has showcased her designs in numerous fashion shows around Columbus, including Bee Foster's fashion shows for three years and the Power of Women events in 2017 and 2018.
Jasmine also helped design alongside Jimelle Levon costumes for the rap group City Girls for their BET Awards performance, world premiere video, and world tour in 2022. She has also won the lookbook cover and designer of the year 2024 for Fashion Week Columbus.

With a strong background in modeling from Asia two decades ago, followed by a decade in Columbus, and a passion for visual expression, my name is Amy Buechel. I am a dedicated and experienced model with a keen eye for fashion, eager to make my mark in the industry with my versatile look and natural ability to embody a brand’s essence. Currently, I am collaborating with numerous local designers through various shoots and runway walks. I am committed to honing my skills in editorial, commercial, and runway modeling, aiming to showcase my unique presence on a broader platform. As a mother of a two-year-old son, my life is filled with exciting challenges and new experiences. Despite these responsibilities, I am delighted to collaborate and support designers in their fashion shows for charitable causes. I am also eager to share my experiences gained in Columbus’s fashion industry.
Tonja Scott, a Chief Financial Officer for two hospitals, has also had a successful career as a professional model foru over two and a half decades. She graced the runways of numerous shows in the Columbus area and other cities, gaining recognition for her modeling prowess. Notably, she even became an executive board member of Columbus Fashion Week and trying her hand at designing clothes.
Dysheen Davis owner of 3DM Photography, is a Getty certified fashion photographer from Queens, New York. He has a very detailed and precise shooting style with attention to editing and high quality. Capturing everyday moments and striving to capture lifestyle and fashion shots that show a person's true personality. He has shot runways at New York Fashion Week and Fashion Week Columbus. Dysheen is the Lead Photographer for The Fashion Shows Art Basel Miami Beach.
His background includes working as a Graphic Designer for 25 years, Which has helped him craft the imagery he takes in the world of photography. Which brought him to Photo Retouching (Catherine's and Lane Bryant, for the LIMITED BRANDS), which guided him to the world of fashion. He is also a Drone Operator, and Video Editor in government media (Franklin County), corporate video editing, and Media. He has a Bachelor's degree from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. His travels have led him to remote locations such as Mexico, Canada, The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and more, where he has captured unique images that have influenced and inspired him. His Background in graphics and design has helped to make his transition to still photography a smooth one.
With over 20 years of media experience, He was able to dive in the world of fashion that took him to New York Fashion Fashion week, Fashion Week Columbus, Miami Fashion Week, Michigan Fashion Week, Doral Fashion Week and many others. There, he was able to develop relationships with many designers, such as Wear Unlmtd Designer, Dream Collection, Fubu, Peek-A-Bras, Xantha Designs, TUTEL, Sonal Couture, Taj Cottage and creators such as Artist James Thomas, Book Author Janelle Wilson. He has also been mutli-published in many websites and magazines across the world, such as World Fashion News, Maharana Weddings, Marika, Bazaar and Republic. Which has brought him to work with Actress Somi Ali and influencer Yoana Land. He has done shows such as the Color of Summer and RAW Artists, showing his versatility in photojournalism and landscape photography. His work can also be viewed in the Ohio Museum, with his photojournalism work in the 2016 protests at the Columbus State Capital.
Kim is a highly experienced healthcare professional who has dedicated over 20 years of her career to Ohiohealth. Throughout her journey, she has served in various medical settings, including hospital-owned urban practices, free and low-income clinics, and as a faculty member at a residency program. Presently, Kim practices at Ohiohealth’s Westerville campus. Demonstrating her commitment to her profession, Kim has taken on leadership roles within her organization. She served as the co-chair of the Culture and Service Committee, where she actively contributed to the development and enhancement of the organization's culture. She served as one of the System Lead Physicians and engaged with her providers and offices to help improve the quality scores in her portfolio.She currently serves as Medical Director of Quality for the ambulatory care service line. Kim's professional accomplishments extend beyond her medical practice. She is a 28 year member and fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a testament to her exceptional knowledge and dedication to the field. In addition, she is board certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, further underscoring her commitment to promoting a holistic approach to healthcare. Beyond her medical expertise, Kim is a passionate advocate for the benefits of yoga and inclusivity within the practice.
As a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, she actively teaches yoga and has additional training in Somatic Healing, Reiki, Restorative Yoga and Meditation. She is currently studying Kemetic yoga under the tutelage of Master Yirser Ra Hotep. Recognizing the importance of inclusivity in the yoga community, Kim provides training and workshops to yoga teachers, emphasizing the need to embrace and include all individuals. She has even created a website, www.yogaisforus.com, dedicated to fostering inclusivity in yoga and offers weekly free virtual classes. Kim's educational journey showcases her diverse interests and dedication to personal growth. She completed her undergraduate degree at Marshall University, where she received the prestigious Yeager Scholar award. She expanded her academic horizons by studying English and Literature at Oxford University and Spanish at The Universitas Nebrissensis in Madrid. Kim pursued her medical education at Marshall University School of Medicine, supported by the Touma Family scholarship. Following medical school, she matched at Mt. Carmel Family Medicine Residency in Columbus, Ohio, where she joined her husband, Harvey J. Austin. Kim's thirst for knowledge remains unquenchable as she continually seeks to expand her expertise.
She recently completed the AAFP Leading Physician Wellness certificate program. She has been accepted to participate in the Columbus Medical Association’ Physician Leadership Academy this fall. With a deep understanding of the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being, Kim passionately introduces yoga to her patients, family, coworkers, and colleagues. She firmly believes in the power of yoga to positively impact lives and consistently endeavors to spread this message. Kayoncé Hansard, I am 22 years young and a firefighter with the Columbus Division of Fire since Oct 30 2023. Seeing little girls and boys that look like me excited to see me, when I am responding to emergency calls is always the highlight of my day. You don’t see many like me in this field so seeing me lets them know they can be anything they want in life no matter their background. I love to travel and have fun living my best life and making memories on my free time.

Denise Rudolph began her career as a firefighter for the City of Columbus in 2021. She is not only dedicated to her profession but also cherishes being a mom. She is known for her bubbly personality and athleticism. Denise brings positivity and enthusiasm to every aspect of her life.
Firefighter Jackson serves in the Office of Community Risk Reduction within the Columbus Division of Fire. In this role, she focuses on public safety education, fire prevention, and community outreach. Felecia began her fire service career responding to medical emergencies and battling fires before transitioning into fire prevention. Her dedication to public safety is part of a proud family legacy. Her twin sister, Lieutenant Falencia Frazier, and her brother, Lieutenant Mario Jackson, serve with the Cincinnati Fire Department, making their family one of the few African American families with multiple members serving in the fire service. Together, they represent over 40 years of dedication to firefighting and public safety. Felecia holds a Master’s degree in the Study of Law from The Ohio State University, a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Affairs from Wright State University. With a steadfast dedication to protecting and educating her community, Felecia Jackson continues to honor her family’s legacy while paving the way for future generations in public service.
Jazzmine Towns is a proud firefighter of the Columbus Division of Fire, adding to history as one of the few black women in the field. Born and raised in Columbus, OH, she is the daughter of Samuel and Veddiann Towns, who instilled in her the values of faith, hard work, dedication and community. Driven by a passion for service, she is committed to giving back and supporting the community that shaped her. Following in the footsteps of her father and brother, both firefighters with Columbus Division of Fire, it has been an honor to serve the city that helped mold her into the woman that she is today. As a black woman firefighter, she strives to be a role model for young black girls, showing them that they, too, can achieve their dreams, no matter the box that others try to keep them in. In the words of Marian Wright Edelman, “you can’t be what you can’t see”. It is Jazzmine’s hope that her visible life in service will inspire young black girls to believe in themselves and never stop chasing their dreams.
Elizabeth “Liz” Finnegan is an eight year member of Columbus Division of Fire; and the Vice President of the Columbus African American Firefighters Association. Finnegan is the first African American female Explosive Detection Canine Handler for the State of Ohio and the first African American canine handler for Columbus Fire. She holds certifications as a State Fire and EMS Instructor II, American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Instructor, Hazmat Tech, 911 Dispatcher, Critical Incident Manager, and a mentor with Uni5d Outcomes a community driven organization fostering change through science, and trauma based programs. Liz is an athlete and dog mom, she and her three dogs can be seen running around Columbus during her free time.
Tiffany Thomas is a firefighter and paramedic at the Columbus Division of Fire. She is an alumna of Spelman College and is currently pursuing a Jurist Doctorate at Capital Law School. She is a strong advocate of Healthcare justice.
